2019 is just around the corner and we are ready, but are our homes? People set goals for themselves, their relations, their habits and for their lifestyle when entering a new year, so instead of putting too much pressure on ourselves, relax and release the energy of the past year by blowing fresh life into your home.
Let’s take a closer look at the interior design forecast for the next year. It’s looking earthy and eco-friendly.
The materials
The material to go for in 2019 are the natural materials. The materials that will be widely used around the world will be organic such as wood, marble and granite. The material that has been seen in 2018 and will be seen a lot more of in 2019 is velvet, for accessories as well as for larger furniture pieces. Furniture will also be built up by materials such as glass and metal.
The colours
The colours as well are all very inspired by nature and everything natural. There is going to be a lot of subtle and calming colours, drawn from the earthy tones that we see in our everyday lives. Some of the colours that will be popular in 2019, and we are looking forward to seeing more of, are calming greys, warm berry reds, raw wood browns and yellows, soft terracotta, misty blues and forest greens. These colours won’t only be seen on walls, but also on statement walls, statement ceilings, contemporary rugs, bedroom furniture and living room furniture.
The furniture
The furniture is shifting in different directions. It’s predicted that some furniture like sofas, beds and chairs will get more curvy designs in soft and comfortable materials. The Rolf Benz 384 chair is a perfect example of this style of furniture with its curvy shape, as well as the Rolf Benz Plura Sofa. Add a glass or metal coffee table alongside these pieces and you’ll have a living room well suited with luxury interior design, ready for 2019.
Some of the furniture however will be all about the compact design with multifunctional finishes. This is even the case for the best quality furniture, such as Hülsta, which offers beds with storage units, and Lucas sofa beds.
The elements
It’s not only the colours and materials that should be earthy in the home, it is of course also vital to bring in the plants. Some plants help purify the air in your home, as well as bringing a nice green pop to any room and look amazing on a sideboard or end table. Go for the plants that are easy to care for.
